海報和報道顯示，歌單由Jack Antonoff制作，參與音樂人有Diana Ross、Tame Impala等，也包括中國香港歌手王嘉爾、G.E.M.(鄧紫棋)。眾星將集體翻唱上世紀六七十年代金曲，其中王嘉爾將翻唱Patrick Hernandez 1979年冠單《Born to Be Alive》，鄧紫棋翻唱Nancy Sinatra 1966年熱單《Bang Bang》。也有一首Antonoff參與創作的原創新歌《Turn Up the Sunshine》，Diana Ross和Tame Impala合作演唱。
作為《卑鄙的我》系列電影最新篇章，《小黃人大眼萌2：格魯的崛起》會將中國文化融入故事之中，并引入了全新的小黃人角色“牙套萌神”——奧豆以及新晉反派“邪惡六天王”，影片回到格魯的少年時期，他將和初次合作的“得力助手”小黃人一起，與惡棍團斗智斗勇，踏上成為“超級壞蛋”之路。
凱爾·巴爾達與布拉德·埃布爾森執導，史蒂夫·卡瑞爾、朱莉·安德魯斯、拉塞爾·布蘭德等回歸配音，楊紫瓊、塔拉吉·P·漢森、尚格·云頓、露西·勞萊絲、道夫·龍格爾、丹尼·特喬等新加盟配音。
《小黃人大眼萌2：格魯的崛起》將擔任2022年法國安納西國際動畫電影節（6月13-18日）的開幕片，6月13日世界首映，7月1日北美上映，7月6日在法國上映。
